Jason ’92 and Kristina Tokunaga Endowed Fund for Global Education
As an ophthalmologist, Jason Tokunaga ’92 helps patients gain a clearer vision of the world. When he and his wife, Kristina, became Punahou parents, Jason gained a new perspective on the kinds of opportunities Punahou provides, including programs that help students develop an appreciation for cultural diversity and global responsibility.
Jason recalls that “there were so many opportunities that Punahou provided to me as a student, many of which my fondest school memories are based upon. Now as a Punahou parent, opportunities for my son Ty ’27 seem to have increased exponentially, and it is hard not to overfill his schedule with all Punahou has to offer.” In honor of Jason’s 25th Reunion, Jason and Kristina established an endowed fund to support programs that will open students’ eyes to the increasingly connected global community. They believe that nothing compares to traveling to a destination and experiencing it firsthand, and they wanted to help Punahou students travel with the wonderful programs offered through the School.
