Punahou is deeply indebted to the many generous individuals over the decades who have included the School in their gift planning. These donors have collectively woven a tapestry for our campus and our of aloha that provides and cares community in perpetuity.
In the 2023 – 2024 school year, Punahou was the beneficiary of 61 separate trust and estate distributions totaling over $8 million.
12 new members were welcomed to Ka Punahou Society last year.
Each year, Punahou donors give strategically to maximize the impact of their donations. With the guidance of legal and financial advisors, our supporters employ gift plans that minimize taxes, while maximizing benefits for both Punahou and themselves. These include gifts to Punahou in estate plans, making tax-free gifts directly from IRAs, and giving appreciated non-cash assets, such as stocks and real property to Punahou.
In fiscal year 2024, Punahou confirmed revocable bequests and beneficiary designations totaling more than $10 million, double the previous year! Meaningful new planned gifts created this year ensure a source of future support for Punahou’s students, faculty and staff, programs, and campus grounds and facilities.
20 gifts of appreciated stock were made via our online stock gift portal totaling $172,686 (tax free)!
For Catherine Tompkison ’74, “A future gift to Punahou is not about legacy. It is aloha. It is pono.
It’s about reciprocating the gifts that Punahou has given me.”
