GIVING TO PUNAHOU 2023 - 2024

Volunteers are the Heart and Strength of our Community

Members of Punahou’s Parent Leadership Giving Council (PLGC), Parent Advancement Council (PAC) and the Heart of Punahou Employees (HOPE) Committee help encourage community support of the School’s philanthropic priorities. Each of these groups made a tremendous impact at Punahou last year.
82% of the Class of 2035 families participated with a gift to Punahou last year!
Our volunteers worked together over the 2023 – 2024 school year to increase giving through engagement events, emails, texts, videos and Giving Day promotions. The PAC has made an enthusiastic effort to increase philanthropy among parents over the last several years, and parent participation soared to 50% this year. Ten K – 12 grades achieved more than 50% participation in support of the school, breaking past records.
HOPE hosted welcome events for new employees, launched a special Gyro Challenge for Giving Day, and sent handwritten thank you notes to honor fellow faculty and staff donors. Their efforts have inspired nearly 50% of our faculty and staff to go above and beyond what they already do to support Punahou with a philanthropic gift.
A record 2,631 donors made a gift within the 24 hours of our Punahou Giving Day.
Each of the three volunteer groups helped to make Punahou’s third annual Giving Day on April 11, 2024 an overwhelming success. We are deeply grateful to our 300+ volunteers, our incredible students, and to the buff ’n blue community for coming together, with 2,631 donors collectively generating more than $650,000 for the Punahou Fund. These gifts provide essential flexible funds that address the School’s greatest needs and top priorities. From tuition support for our families to fostering transformative student experiences and pioneering new programs, the Punahou Fund impacts the lives of every student across campus. More importantly, our volunteers are an integral part of weaving the “mat that seats many,” helping to provide the resources we need to continue working toward our shared values of inclusion, diversity, sustainability, innovation and exploration.
The Class of 2026 had 224 families participating in Giving Day! Class of 2029 was close behind with 205 families, and 2027 had 190 families!
