The School is gearing up for an in-person Carnival experience that harkens back to pre-pandemic times: Everyone – the entire buff ’n blue ‘ohana and the public at large – will be welcomed back to this fun-filled annual event for the first time since 2020. In addition, the Carnival will once again be expanded to two full days of food, fun and excitement.

Carnival Goes Cashless
Scrip will be accepted at food booths, specialty booths, rides, Midway and Kiddie Land games. All major credit cards including Apple Pay and Google Pay will be accepted to purchase scrip. Debit cards will require a PIN.

Please note: Animals are not allowed on campus unless they are service certified, wearing a vest that identifies them as a service animal, and the handler has certification of the approved service animal.

    Plan ahead and be sure to buy enough scrip to get all your Carnival favorites! Scrip is needed for all food booths, specialty booths, games and E.K. Fernandez rides.
  • Parking
    Please note there are classes on the morning of Carnival Friday, so all faculty/staff parking spaces will be occupied. Middle Field opens at 5:30 a.m. on Friday, and 6 a.m. on Saturday.

    There are many paid parking options available in the surrounding neighborhood, many of which are fundraisers for our neighboring organizations and schools.

  • Carnival Booth List
    View a complete list of all the food, games, rides and specialities booths available at this year’s Punahou Carnival! We’ll have two hamburger booths and two malasada booths for you to get your Carnival faves. While we are unable to offer Chicken Plate this year, we are excited to announce a new booth: Sweet Treats, serving up popcorn, cotton candy and more!
  • Acceler-Auction
    Bid on show tickets, spa treatments, unique jewelry and more! The silent auction is online again this year and accessible to the entire community. Select items will be displayed in Kirsch Gallery during Carnival. Register to bid ahead of time using the link below.

  • Van Go Art Gallery
    Shop in-person or browse online to view and purchase nearly 1,000 works by 220 Hawai‘i artists, featuring a wide range of mediums including paintings, photographs, wood bowls, ceramics, sculpture, jewelry and more.

  • Variety Show
    Get bready... because the Class of 2023 is baking up a delicious Variety Show! “Bread: The Variety Show” is stuffed full of stunning student-choreographed dance numbers, amazing student-written music, and of course, bread puns that definitely aren’t crumby.
    Fri., Feb. 3 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
    Sat., Feb. 4 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Buff ’n Blue Store
    Visit our pop-up store in Mamiya 104 for Punahou logo items including the exclusive Eden in Love Punahou-themed pouch and bags. Payment types accepted include: Credit cards, Apple Pay, checks or scrip. Cash will not be accepted. All sales final. No refunds or exchanges.
  • Haku Lei
    At this year’s Carnival purchasing an item from the haku lei booth will be a little different than in previous years. Numbered tickets will be distributed beginning at 10 a.m. each day of Carnival, and those with numbers will be assigned a purchasing window in 15-minute increments between 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Hawaiian Plate
    While enjoying great Hawaiian food and taking a break from the Carnival action, enjoy live entertainment at Dole Hall, mauka of Rice Field parking and the main carnival grounds.
  • Splat Trap
    Get ready to get splashed! Find out when your favorite student, faculty or staff member will be in the Splat Track and come by for some fun.
  • E.K. Fernandez Rides
    Rides are back at this year’s Carnival! Speedway, Magic Maze, Balloon Race (54″ max height), Helicopters (54″ max height) and a new ride, Air Show, will be open both days until 9 p.m. Jungle Twist, Carousel, Dizzy Dragon, SuperSlide and Lolli Swings will be open both days until 11 p.m.

    The E. K. Fernandez FunPass will not be accepted this year, all attendees must use Punahou Carnival scrip to ride.
