In 1943, her parents, James P.D. Thropp and Lena B. Thropp, sent Nancy and her brother James P.D. Thropp Jr. ’52 to Punahou. Both Nancy and her brother loved Punahou so much they both included gifts for Punahou in their estate plans to establish endowed financial aid funds.

Throughout her life, Nancy took art classes and enjoyed showing and selling her work in Honolulu and Austin, Texas. She was a generous and loyal supporter of the Honolulu Museum of Art as well as Punahou School.
