Presented by the Punahou Music Department, the concert will feature three extraordinary soloists from the Class of 2024 – Cassidy Sakamoto (viola), Ian Ahn (cello), and Conrad Cao (piano) with Punahou Symphony Strings and guest musicians. The program will open with Leo Delibes’ Prelude and Mazurka from Coppélia. It will be followed with Edward Elgar’s Cello Concerto (arranged for viola), Camille Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto, and concluding with George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.
Punahou’s annual concerto program is a culminating activity for seniors to showcase their musical contributions and inspire younger students. The concert will also feature special video vignettes with the young artists, highlighting their personal musical journeys and perspectives on their repertoire.
