Davis Democracy Initiative opportunities in advance of Election Day!

Wednesday, October 23 (C-Day)
11:30 a.m. – 12:25 p.m., Drama Workshop at Dillingham Theatre (basement performance space)
Verbatim Performance Lab presentation of “That's Not a Partisan Feeling, That’s Patriotic: A Portraits US Election 2024 Event.” What do Americans want and expect from their next president? In this interactive theater, attendees can volunteer to read interview excerpts from across the U.S. between 2020 and 2024. You will hear dialogue about elections, political parties, and identity. With a technique from NYU’s Verbatim Performance Lab, this event is facilitated by Dean Emily SL Silver, also a theater maker. Sign up for lunch and possible speaking roles here.

After-school Postcard Writing Parties
Join folks across the political spectrum to write postcards to swing state voters for their chosen candidates. Let us know your interest and availability here. Direct involvement in campaigns has been shown to reduce election-related stress!

November 5 (F-Day)
All Day, Luke Lecture Hall (Wo International Center)
Election-day teach-in and watch party. Stop in throughout the day to watch election coverage, listen to student presentations and guest speakers, grab a snack, and watch returns as they begin to come in. Let us know if you'd like to bring a class at any point throughout the day.
