  • Punahou’s Food Drive

At this annual event, Luke Center seeks to meet current needs in the community by inviting students from Kindergarten to grade 12 to collect healthy nonperishable food. These donations go to organizations that serve Hawai‘i’s food-insecure residents. In a relatively recent tradition, the Junior Class expanded their annual Sugar Drive for malasada supplies to also include a bag of rice. For the past few years they’ve collected literally tons of the popular grain that has, in turn, been donated to Hawaii Foodbank, The Pantry and Chef Hui. Punahou Alumni have also recently gotten involved with this worthy endeavor, staging drive-by food drop-off events on campus with donations going to The Pantry, run by alumni Jennine Sullivan ‘07.
  • Aloha United Way Student Campaign

For decades Punahou students have been invited to join an annual Aloha United Way (AUW) student campaign. Typically held at the start of the school year, students hear chapel messages that emphasize compassion and giving, often featuring guest speakers who represent organizations that benefit from AUW support. Academy students organize fundraising sales, featuring popular snacks as well as products crafted by student entrepreneurs. Junior School students are encouraged to engage in service activities at home to earn their donations for AUW.

  • Sustainability Fair

The annual Sustainability Fair is a student-led event showcasing student projects that demonstrate and celebrate sustainability. Community organizations that further the cause of sustainable living join us on campus to demonstrate opportunities for energy efficiency, sustainable agriculture, marine restoration, forestry management and much more outside of Punahou’s walls. The 2024 Sustainability Fair will take place on April 4 and is open to all current Punahou students, faculty and staff.
